Geeze, Don, every answer I come up with to that question makes me cringe. Maybe Marie is right and they're all Skrulls. Right now, that's not looking so bad, relatively speaking.
I am disappointed, but still, shockingly, not surprised. I will turn the chammel!!!

I'm going with the Skrull.
Cap's not dead. If he is, there will eventually be a new Marvel administration, and they'll make him undead. If he's not, they already have a plan for unDead Cap, and they will keep the status quo for 1-2 years and then have another event for the press in that time.
But I agree it's a lame-ass excuse for an event. But damn, they sure got a lot of press...
I just a blog by Steve Bunche. He reminded me that Cap has died more than once. Where is my mind?
