Work in progress

I am working on my new western book and I thought I would show some art. It's going well, but I'm never satisfied with my work. I've done a quick critique of one of my panels.

Interesting! It's great that you aren't on a specific deadline with this, so you have the freedom to make such changes. It shows real dedication to your art. Especially considering that the face in question is that of a supporting character.

The job I'm working on right now is killing me! If time and money were not important, I'd redraw EVERY face if it were an option! ACK!

Looking forward to seeing more, Don. I like these "behind the scenes" peeks at your book.

Yes, very interesting. If I could drop my 2 cents, I like the proportions on face 4 and the rendering and coy gesture on face 2. You know what I mean? I suggest that there may be a bit too much rendering on face 4, but that could be it. I love seeing how an artist puts together his stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Allen, Thanks for the opinion and I should say that in regards to rendering, less is more. The face in question is a foreground element and the focus of the panel will be in the BG. The reason I put the effort into drawing it over and over is that people pay attention to faces! I hope to post more art soon.
