Coca-Cola AD
I saw an ad for Coca Cola in Hollywood the other day. It reminded me of anther Coke ad from long ago. The new ad kinda sucks. Look at the top AD. The way the hand is holding the bottle, it seems like a weapon. And if you look at the woman in the top AD, it looks like there's prairie grass growing out from between her legs. Bad composition.
I can understand an homage to a classic ad, I hate that this one sucks.

Marvel Reunion Part 3
The day after the Reunion, I took the train to a little town in New Jersey to meet with friends. Rick Parker was part of a town-wide art exhibit, so I met up with Vince Evans, who lived nearby. I've known Vince for a looong time and it was great seeing him and having lunch in the afternoon. We met up with Marie and Steve at Rick's installation and we went to Mark Chiarellos' place!
I love Mark's paintings and he really is the greatest guy!
We dropped off vince and drove to Marc Siry's house, where I met the cute newborn! What a nice place! What a wonderful weekend!

My NYC Walking Tour!
In 1990 when I lived in New York, I grabbed a Polaroid camera and brought it into town. My walk from the subway to Marvel Comics took me through Madison Square Park, close to the Flatiron Building. I took a few snapshots while walking back then.
I retraced my steps while in NYC last week and I am surprised at the changes 19 years later.

Marvel Reunion Part 2
I showed up at the reunion early because I had a doorman shift at 7:15. It seemed like most people arrived early! So many cool people who I've missed! I tried to speak to everyone, but I did a lot of bouncing around. If you are my Facebook Friend, then you've already seen a lot of photos. Now it's my turn to post some snap shots!

Marvel Reunion Part 1
I flew to New York City this past weekend! The occasion was a reunion of about 150 people who worked for Marvel Comics in the late 80s to early 90s. To me, that was a special time and a lot of people agreed! I flew in on Friday and met my friend Dawn at a pub near Thompson street. I crashed on the couch and my spare set of keys gave me a lot of freedom to walk around the city.
That's exactly what I did on Saturday! I never walk in LA, so I visited most of my old hangouts in Manhattan. Astor Place then 14th street. Going uptown to Park Avenue south and 33rd st. I lost track of the time and scrambled for a train to 77th st. for a brunch date with friends. I made a mistake and had to walk across Central Park to the brunch.
The brunch was a lot of fun! The photo shows myself, Eliot Brown, Sara, Marie and Steve. Eliot is holding up a banner that Marvel must have used for a sporting event or something.
Everyone split up to take care of their own errands, and I went back to walking. Brunch was over at 12:00 and I had only 7 hours before the reunion that night and karaoke. Oh yes, I said karaoke!
