I needed to see some Gil Kane! I like his pencil layouts and his energy.

Advertising Art can be Background Art
Sometimes you need background art for an Animatic. This is an example of some BGs I've drawn. Usually needed for a car spot.

More Sketches
A random selection of sketches from previous 'Drinky Drawing' nights. I usually do more drinking than drawing!

SPENT - Looking For Change
I did this neat project for the Spent: looking for change Documentary, that has been getting some attention recently. This is a time lapse piece that will lead to the website where you can see the full movie. Or you can just click HERE.
This was a great time and an important project. Watch the film!

Samuree Sketch
I had been thinking about the old forgotten character, Samuree from Continuity Comics. They cancelled the book maybe 25 years ago? It's ready for a reboot!

World Cup Art
As I am loving the Copa del Mundo, I thought I would post an old futbol themed storyboard frame.
Go USA!

Fabriano Drawing Paper
I am familiar with the Watercolor paper made by Fabriano. High-end paper that I like, so I was excited to see this drawing pad offered at my local art supply store. It's made from recycled paper and that's a plus!
This works for me. I bought the smaller 11.5x8.25 size and I would check out a larger 17 by 11 size if they made it.

World Wrestling Comics
Years ago, I was the inker on a series of comics featuring the stars of the WWF. Ron Wilson did the pencils and we tried to keep the athletes likenesses true to life. There were adventures with Rick Rude, Ultimate Warrior, Sting and many other wrestling stars of the day. The wrestler Sting is still around, but with darker makeup. More gothic make up I believe.
Now, I have learned about WW Comics! Different creative group, but with the same bone breaking action. On the left you can see a page from my run the WWF comic and on the right, an AD for the new comic.

Sketchy Layouts
This layout is from a Batgirl idea I had. I only got two pages into it before I had to abandon it.
Oh well...

Unpublished X-Men
I came across a neat blog the other day called unpublishedxmen.blogspot.com. Illustrations and commissioned drawings of X-men art. Some inventory art, some foreign covers! I enjoyed looking at his site and thought about the X-men art I have. Here is a repost of an unpublished sketch drawn by Art Adams.
I think it was for the old X-Men Classic series! Check out the unpublished site at the link above.

Car Storyboards
It was busy earlier in the month for Storyboards! As all sorts of companies are preparing for the World Cup going on in Brazil this summer. Here is a little of what I drew for an upcoming advertisement.
It drives well! It's nimble! Buy this car!

Dalai Lama Graphic Novel
Last year, my friend Steve Buccellato enlisted my help on a great project! It's a graphic novel biography, an authorized illustrated story of His Holiness, the Fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet! It will tell of his full life story so far. Living in exile from his homeland, living as a writer and a proponent of peace. Check the above link to find out more.
As for my involvement, Steve wanted his layouts tightened up for a computer painter to complete. I think the finished pages look great and I can't wait for the finished product! Here is a page to show a bit of the process.
Visit Steve's work site to see more Dalai Lama GN art. www.legendhaus.com
