I quit eating Fruit Brute as a kid when I found a cockroach in mine. It wasn't the cereal's fault, the home I lived in had roaches. But it put me off the stuff for life.
There was a great stylized Munny sculpture of Fruit Brute along with a lot of other kids' breakfast favorites at the "Cereal Killers" group art show at Monkeyhouse Toys in Silver Lake. Fantastic stuff. I think the Fruit Brute piece might still be there.
