When studying up for a project like this, what sort of stuff do you look at aside from real cats? I would think taking a good look at a disney movie like Aristocats might be helpful, as Disney animation is always very well observed. On the other hand, it might make your stuff too derivative. I don't know, what are your thoughts on this? How to you prepare to draw a whole bunch of cats?
The funny thing is Allen, The people overseeing the project did not want anything like Disney Cats. They want a different style I guess. When I prepare for animals, I try to study it's anatomy and chararacteristics. Gestures and stuff. Also, I have been looking at Wally Woods' cartoon work. I love the way he does animals!
