Robert Fawcett!

My new Robert Fawcett book arrived in the mail today! Do you have yours?

I bought stock when Marvel first went public. A lot of Marvel employees bought stock because it was a no-brainer. At the time Marvel had 60 percent of the Comic market! As a stock holder, I received the annual report. This is the cover from the 1995 report and it's drawn by M. Golden.

I'm lucky to have DAREDEVIL pencil copies of D. Mazzuchelli art! When he started on the book way back when, he was inked by Dan Bulandi, a very strong inker. These scans show how tight Mazzuchelli's pencils were.

Mazzuchelli would have a good run on the book and he'd ink himself for about a dozen issues before leaving. He's doing his own graphic novels now, and I think his art is great! But it doesn't look like this anymore.

I Drew It, Then Colored It!

I did a recent drawing of Wolverine. I decided to color it!

Dwayne McDuffie

Dwayne died earlier this week and I wish I knew him better. I first met him when he worked in Editorial at Marvel. He did not stay there very long, but I worked with him when he wrote XO Manowar for Acclaim Comics. He wrote so many books and I admired his great talent. I went to the ReggiesWorld launch party at Golden Apple Comics last night. I heard Reg Hudlin and Denys Cowan remember him and how he was taken away too soon. He was a good guy and I wish I knew him better.

In my early days at Marvel, I had a chance to do some lettering in the Bullpen. I got the opportunity to letter 2 Spider-Man sunday Strips! The regular letterer went on vacation and gave me copies of some earlier Sunday strips. I think I've posted the original Sundays a few years ago, but here is some Spidey art from the artist at the time, Floro Dery!

This is some Promo art drawn for the second Batman film starring Michael Keaton. It's drawn by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and I think he got the likeness right! I have a bunch more Lopez art I will post in the future!

These pencils are by Alan Davis! I used to hang around the office that edited 'Excalibur' and I'd get excited when his pencils would come in. He did some his best work on the book! He did even better work on the 'ClanDestine' book from Marvel but I don't have any copies from that stuff.

Does Color Help?

I did the drawing on the left but someone else did the color! I knew that the colorist would work his/her magic but I am wondering why are the windows tinted? The detail inside the taxicab is lost!
