Comic-Con on Thursday

My GF and I went to San Diego for the world famous convention on Thursday! We drove down this morning around 5:00 and we just got back. We only wanted to do a day trip and there were some panels we wanted to watch. The first was the 'Female power Icons'. The Women of Science Fiction, that included Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana and Eliza Dushku. Great panel! I became a big fan of Saldana after hearing her speak. The next panel was the 'Burn Notice' panel that featured Bruce Campbell. He was really charming and had a huge personality! Whenever someone asked a question he liked, he gave that person money. Great fun! The next panel was for 'Psych'. I was not as familiar with that show, but the lead actors appeared and they were funny and engaging. The panel would have been better had the moderator been more professional.

After we left, we walked to a networking party in the Gaslamp Quarter and met with Steve and Brian Buccellato. The first 400 beers were free!

There was a lot of walking, some eating and a few hours spent waiting in a few lines. I was very happy to have spent the day with my girlfriend, and I would not have changed a thing.

L. Fishburne

I came across two photos of Laurence Fishburne. One from a movie from 1997 and the other from CSI, the TV show. I think he was taller in 1997.

John Adams

My friend Steve lent me the HBO series 'John Adams' on DVD and as a history buff, I am enjoying them greatly!

Color Paper part 2

The paper I am using is more like construction paper and It's not compatible with pastels or gouache. I like the dry ink brush look, but it's hard to manage. I think I will look for a higher quality paper.

Who is Shepard Fairey?

My GF and I spent the day walking around Hollywood and caught a movie! After leaving 'The Hangover', we stopped into a Shepard Fairey exhibit on Cahuenga Blvd. Fairey created the Obama poster and put up the 'OBEY' posters all over LA. Good stuff!

Nice Holiday

I spent the fourth of July at my friend Gary's place in Riverside. He hosted a barbeque with a bunch of people and we caught the fireworks afterward. What a great view!

Independence Day

I found this poster in 2000 I think. I was sharing studio space with Mad Science Media in Culver City and this hung on the wall. Happy Independence Day everyone!

King of Pop

When Michael Jackson died last week, I wondered how the would remember him. I will remember him as a victim of child abuse and as someone with incredible talent who could not mature emotionally. After watching the media coverage of his death and the subsequent memorials, that seems to be a the common thought.

Poor Michael Jackson. I hope he's happy wherever he is.
